At Puzzle’s Love Autism Foundation, our journey began with a heartfelt desire that sprouted from the experiences of our founder, Janet Arvelo. Faced with the autism diagnosis of her own grandchild, Janet embarked on a transformative mission alongside her daughter. Together, they navigated the challenges and frustrations that often arise due to misconceptions and discrimination from government agencies, care centers, and beyond. These encounters, though disheartening, ignited an unwavering determination. Motivated by a shared sense of purpose, Janet and her daughter delved into understanding autism spectrum disorder with unyielding resolve. Through the crucible of personal experience, they envisioned a haven of resources, support, and empowerment for families with children and youth diagnosed with autism. As the CEO and Founder, Janet Arvelo took a remarkable step forward. Recognizing the profound impact of their journey, she embarked on an educational odyssey, earning a Master's in Child and Adolescent Psychology, a Master's in Montessori Education, and a certification in RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) to provide ABA Therapy – a beacon of hope for those seeking advocate.
Born on June 29, 1973, in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico, she battled chronic asthma since childhood but excelled academically. As a young mother of two, she pursued a pharmacy assistant career. Later, she ventured into banking, insurance, and real estate. In 2009, she relocated to Florida, where she achieved a Bachelor's in Nursing, Criminal Justice, and Christian Counseling. She became Senior Pastor of Redes Church Florida with her husband, Ivan Arvelo. She's a proud grandmother to Shalimar, Esteban, and Kaleb Javier. Following Esteban's autism diagnosis in 2022, she obtained a double Master's in Child and Youth Psychology, focusing on Montessori Education. She's now an advocate and owner of a childcare center specializing in autism care. Our journey with the Autism Foundation is one of purpose, passion, and profound impact. Through our dedication and commitment, we have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of volunteering and the extraordinary resilience of the human spirit. As we continue on this journey, let us carry forward the lessons we have learned and the connections we have forged, knowing that together, we can make a difference in the lives of individuals with autism.
